Village of Walpi Member Wood Allocation
We have suspended wood allocations this year 2024-2025 due to the loss of our Wood bank site. We will be working with Tewa and Sichomovi to get a site established to begin distributions.
Geologic Survey
First Mesa has gotten our first USGS Cooperative Landslide Hazard mapping and Assessment Plan with this we can focus on problems at hand. The front of Hano road up into the villages is susceptible to erosion and landslide. It will take a concerted effort from all our first mesa administrations to get this problem solved.
Village and Trail Preservation
We are in active preservation mode and have begun on major and minor projects with homes in our ancestral village. Our focus is mortar replacements and plastering, next will be inside home plaster repair, window replacements, doors, and roofing. Continued efforts are to be cyclical in nature and will need the full cooperation of the community.
