Village of Walpi Member Wood Allocation
The Village of Walpi Board and Administration is proud to announce our partnership with Ancestral
Lands Hopi and US Forestry Service to provide wood to the Village of Walpi Members. This wood
distribution will increase the amount of wood to 4 allocations per Head of Household per year.

Geologic Survey
The Village of Walpi has contacted the Arizona Geologic Survey to help with efforts of creating
Hazard Mapping, Erosion Mapping, Trash Mapping, and Fissure Mapping. There are a great deal of
cracks and loose rock that have begun tilting and some of the rocks have dwellings on them and
are close to the road. The need of this study is for informational purposes and later for engineers
to develop strategic planning for all the ills of First Mesa.

Village and Trail Preservation
The Village of Walpi is gearing up to prepare proposals for the preservation of homes and of trails
leading up to the Mesa top. In the past the Village has collaborated with different organizations to
aid the family that live in the home and for ceremony. The safety of the home is important to
secure the longevity for generations to come.
